CEO of Saudi Arabian Airlines

The CEO of Saudi Arabian airlines is Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud. Prince Sultan is also the crown prince of Saudi Arabia. He is the first deputy prime minister and is also one who completed his studies pertaining religion, modern culture and diplomacy along with his brothers at the royal court. He was also in the role of Minister of Agriculture and Minister of Communications in 1953 and 1955 respectively. Also the Prince Sultan has been the minister of Defence and Aviation till today. He was the one who well-equipped defense capability. Prince Sultan has played important role in building up Saudi Arabia as a whole and has been major part in building the construction of the Kingdom's rail link between Dammam and Riyadh. The building of roads and transportation was also mananged during his tenture.

Report: Group attacks Saudi airline office in Iran to protest Saudi peace plan

Iran's state-run newspaper says a militant group has attacked the office of Saudi Arabia's state-owned airline in Tehran over a Saudi-backed peace initiative with Israel. Iran newspaper says the group - identified as Ikhwan al-Radwan, or Brothers of Heaven in Arabic - attacked the Saudi Arabian Airlines office with several Molotov cocktails Wednesday, causing minor damage to the building. Saturday's newspaper report quotes a statement by the group saying the reason for the attack was Saudi Arabia's support for an Arab peace initiative. The initiative offers Israel normal relations with all Arab countries if it withdraws from lands occupied in 1967 Arab-Israeli war and allows the creation of a Palestinian state with a capital in Jerusalem

Stowaway Mouse Costs Saudi Airlines $500,000

A mouse spread panic among passengers on a Saudi Airlines flight from Cairo to Jeddah, costing the company some $500,000, the Egyptian MENA news agency reported on Friday. The Boeing 747 was already on the runway preparing for takeoff when passengers noticed the furry stowaway. The resulting panic led to the plane being recalled and all 368 passengers evacuated. The plane, which had been due to make a total of three flights that day, was then stuck in Cairo for 24 hours as a result of the rodent's appearance. A replacement plane was flown in from Saudi Arabia, and the passengers finally arrived in Jeddah some eight hours late. 28 passengers refused to fly at all after the discovery of the mouse. The pilot of a Saudi Airlines flight today refused to fly and along with his crew staged a walk-out from the security hold area of Indira Gandhi International Airport here after security personnel on duty found him carrying a lighter in his personal baggage and refused to allow him to carry it on the flight for security reasons. The pilot, Bukhari Bafayad, not only shouted at the security personnel that "no one can stop me'', but also allegedly misbehaved with them when they intercepted him and other crew members of the Saudi Airlines flight SV-755 at SHA 8 and 9 during the pre-embarkation security check It was around 9 a.m. during the check-in that the Central Industrial Security Force personnel on duty noticed a lighter in the baggage of Captain Bafayad. Rats Cause Havoc on Saudi Airlines Flight

TABUK, 15 December 2006 — Passengers of a Tabuk bound evening flight of Saudi Airlines 1563 were frightened by countless rats scurrying on the floor of the aircraft on Wednesday while they were cruising at a height of 25,000 feet. The flight captain immediately informed ground crews at Tabuk airport of the rodent infestation. On landing at the airport, officials discovered that the rats were the possessions of a particular passenger who had kept 80 of them in a leather bag. He did not know how they managed to escape from the bag. The passenger was handed over to security authorities to continue investigations.

Saudi Airlines to resume flights to Aden

After a decade and a half interruption, Saudi Airlines is to resume flights to Aden next Saturday, reported 26sep.net. General Director of the airport Yasin al-Tamimi said that Saudi airlines will start flights to Aden from October 27, with two flights arriving at the airport each day. The move comes as the relationship between Yemen and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia grows. Yemen has been keen to encourage investment in the country in general, but particularly in Aden.  Al-Tamimi said many other foreign airlines will conduct direct flights to Aden during the next period. Fueling services at the airport have also been steadily growing, boosted by the distinguished services the airport provides, al-Tamimi added. Saudi airlines say they are ready for Haj challenge

Airline companies in Saudi Arabia have said they are ready to handle the three million pilgrims expected to arrive for this year's Haj in December. The pledge was made at the annual meeting of BARSA (the Board of Airline Representatives in Saudi Arabia) held in Jeddah on Sunday to discuss preparations for the upcoming pilgrimage. More than 230 pilgrim flights are scheduled to arrive daily at Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport, Arab News reported on Monday, and The Haj Terminal has a capacity to handle more than 3,700 pilgrims an hour. The Ministry of Haj, the Unified Agents Office and the Cars Syndicate together have deployed more than 5,000 temporary workers at KAIA and the Haj Terminal.
