After a decade and a half interruption, Saudi Airlines is to resume flights to Aden next Saturday, reported 26sep.net.

General Director of the airport Yasin al-Tamimi said that Saudi airlines will start flights to Aden from October 27, with two flights arriving at the airport each day.

The move comes as the relationship between Yemen and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia grows. Yemen has been keen to encourage investment in the country in general, but particularly in Aden.  Al-Tamimi said many other foreign airlines will conduct direct flights to Aden during the next period.

Fueling services at the airport have also been steadily growing, boosted by the distinguished services the airport provides, al-Tamimi added.

Saudi Arabia is considered Yemen’s larget supporter since the donor’s conference held in London, November 2006.

In recent years, there have been several joint-meetings between Yemen and Saudi Arabia discussing area’s of cooperation, and increased Saudi upport in different sectors of the Yemeni economy.

Stability in Yemen was a key issue during these meetings as the two countries share a long and porous border.

The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Sultan bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud said in a recently held joint-meeting  that stability in Yemen is crucial to regional security as problems in Yemen could easily affect other Middle Eastern countries, especially those who share a border with Yemen.
